Lucilla's Story

Our tabby cat, Lucilla, had come to us from the rescue centre. We knew she had been in a nasty car accident but that she had recovered well despite serious injuries. About 6 months after her accident, we noticed a gradual decline in her mobility, her energy seemed low, she seemed to be finding it hard to move about, her back leg wasn't working properly, her hip was painful she ate little and slept constantly.

A trip to the vets told us that the accident had caused her pelvis to be displaced and that her hip and leg bones were rubbing together causing constant pain. This required an operation to remove the top of her femur bone so that her hip would work properly with her leg joint and give her back some mobility.

The operation went well but her recovery was slow and she still wasn't using her leg properly. This is when we discovered Animal Phyz. Recommended to us by our vet, Liz at Animal Phyz helped us get Lucilla well again. A course of physiotherapy sessions enabled the blood to flow back to wasting muscles and clearly improved the range of movement in her leg and hip. After every session the difference in Lucilla was amazing. Liz also provided us with 'Pulsed Magnetic Field' machine so that we could progress the muscle rehabilitation in-between physio sessions.

Lucilla is now back hunting and leaping around with the best of them. We know that she will never be a 100% due to the extent of her original injuries but thanks to Liz's specialist skills, she has an active and healthy life again. We intend to treat Lucilla to a physio session every 6 months just to keep her leg muscles in the best condition they can be.

We cannot recommend Animal Phyz highly enough. At every stage Liz explained what was going on, what the options were and was able to answer any questions or concerns we might have. We have been hugely impressed by Liz's personal interest and her active involvement in getting Lucilla well again. It's clear she really cares and will go the extra mile to make a difference.
